About Mr Andrew Yelland FRCS

Mr. Yelland is a highly experienced surgeon who has spent literally decades studying the art and science of cosmetic surgery.

Mr. Yelland received his MB BS from the University of London (St. George's Hospital) in 1986, and trained in the highly regarded breast reconstructive units of St. George's Hospital, The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and Royal Marsden Hospitals in London and Sutton.

He spent 1990 - 1991 at St. George's Hospital Medical School and Charing Cross Hospital Medical School investigating the role of growth factors in breast cancer. As a result of this work he was awarded a Master of Surgery degree from the University of London.

In 1991 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and in 2001 a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Pursuing his interest in cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction, Mr. Yelland traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in the USA to study at Emory University, whose Plastic and Reconstructive Unit is known for its pioneering efforts in breast reconstruction and new endoscopic plastic surgical techniques.

Today, Mr. Yelland is a Lead Consultant in Breast Surgery at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, with a special interest in cosmetic and related onco-plastic procedures, and a highly regarded cosmetic surgeon.

Over his years of practice, Mr. Yelland has developed a special interest in certain kinds of cosmetic surgery. His four major areas of interest are:

  • Cosmetic breast surgery, including breast enlargement, reduction and uplift as well as surgery for inverted nipples and male breast reduction (Gynecomastia)
  • Abdominal reshaping, including liposuction, liposculpture and abdominoplasty (also called Tummy Tuck or Minituck surgery)
  • Facial rejuvenation, including Botox ™, Restylane ™ and lip enhancement.
  • Breast reconstruction, including LD flaps, SM expander and TRAM.

Mr Yelland consults and operates at the Nuffield Health Brighton and Haywards Heath Hospitals and Spirehealthcare at Gatwick Park.

Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital has 56 private bedrooms with en suite facilities, 3 state of the art operating theatres and 10 consulting rooms. It also has a 24 hour resident medical cover.

Nuffield Health Haywards Heath Hospital, has 42 private bedrooms with en suite facilities, 2 operating theatres, 8 consulting rooms and 24 hour resident medical cover.

Spirehealthcare at Gatwick Park is located on the Surrey/Sussex border close to Crawley, with good access to London. It has 64 private en suite bedrooms, 3 operating theatres and 9 consulting rooms and also has 24 hour resident medical cover.

All three hospitals are of course fully registered with the Healthcare commission.

Mr Yelland lives locally and over the last 10 years has developed expert teams for cosmetic surgery in both the out-patient and operating suites.
